I still reckon Italy can do it.......

So predicted 8 results correctly and two perfect scores!

21st June
Portugal 7-0 North Korea (PREDICTION 2-0)
Well slightly misjudged the N Korean defence there, Ronaldo's goal at least raised a smile.
Chile 1-0 Switzerland (PREDICTION 1-1)
In another of the World Cup bore-fests Chile thankfully got a goal through ex-Liverpudlian Gonzalez to set up the last round of the group stages with the Swiss and the Spanish on equal points.
Spain 2-0 Honduras (PREDICTION 4-0)
The Spanish were quite wasteful in this game, Villa missed a penalty and their problems in the wide areas persist as does Torres struggling and their defence.

22nd June
Mexico 0-1 Uruguay (PREDICTION 0-0)
France 1-2 South Africa (PREDICTION 1-0)
Can't believe there was a winner in the Mex-Uru game convinced the two would play out the dull 0-0 that they needed to both go through, but fair play to Uruguay they went and won the group. The French campaign ended in shame again, but at least they scored a goal. Domenech not shaking hands with Perreira at the end was over a Henry handball comment apparently.
Greece 0-2 Argentina (PREDICTION 0-4)
Nigeria 2-2 South Korea (PREDICTION 0-2)
Ended up backing a draw in the bookies in the Nigeria game despite my prediction here but missed out on the money with Aguero not scoring in the other game. Greece didn't really give it a go to be honest and deserved to go out. Some miss from Yakubu in the other game.

23rd June
Slovenia 0-1 England (PREDICTION 1-3)
USA 1-0 Algeria (PREDICTION 1-0!!!!!)
Well England got the win in the end but still not playing well, Defoe up front seemed to renew Rooney's enthusiasm at least and he played well for the first time. USA left it late but Donovan slotted it in in the end, and dedicated it to his wife/ex-wife much to the amusement of the RTE panel.

Australia 2-1 Serbia (PREDICTION 1-1)
Ghana 0-1 Germany (PREDICTION 1-3)
So Australia got a win in the end but still went out, but at least it means there's one African team in the second round, but still thought Germany should have beaten them a bit more convincingly but at least set up the Germany/England second round match, can't wait for the Sun's coverage.

24th June
Paraguay 0-0 New Zealand (PREDICTION 1-0)
Slovakia 3-2 Italy (PREDICTION 0-1)
So poor defending instead of a lack of a striker cost the Italians in the end, and this result means Slovakia may be very tricky for us in the Euro qualifiers. And fair play New Zealand not getting bet, was good enough for us to progress in 1990 in our first go but not for them.
Denmark 1-3 Japan (PREDICTION 1-1)
Cameroon 1-2 Netherlands (PREDICTION 0-2)
The Japanese proved better than the Danes mainly due to Honda, (shows you the Power of Dreams wha!) and the Dutch go through and with Robben getting a runout, but they'll probably fall apart the minute they look like doing something as always.

25th June
Portugal 0-0 Brazil (PREDICTION 1-2)
North Korea 0-3 Ivory Coast (PREDICTION 1-0)
Boring. Brazil game was pox and Ivory Coast won but still went out.
Switzerland 0-0 Honduras (PREDICTION 1-0)
Chile 1-2  Spain (PREDICTION 1-2!!!)
So Spain finally do some good in this World Cup and give me a perfect score, other than that still nothing World-beating about them at all. They have to give up on Torres and just throw him on for emergencies. Swiss typically couldn't manage the one goal that would put them through.

SECOND ROUND PREDICTIONS
26th June
Uruguay 2-1 South Korea
USA 1-0 Ghana
27th June
Germany 1-1 England (England on penalties, has to happen once!)
Argentina 2-1 Mexico (at least one red card...)
28th June
Netherlands 3-0 Slovakia
Brazil 2-0 Chile
29th June
Paraguay 1-2 Japan
Spain 2-2 Portugal (Spain on penalties)
