Paddy Hanna - Leafy Stiletto Fave Tracks: Join The Army Barry White On This Pier Too Long http://paddyhanna.bandcamp.com/   Shola says "Great indie album that has one of the best songs of the year in the shape of Join The Army. Definitely in my top ten albums of the year" 9. Ryan Adams - Ryan Adams Fave Tracks: Gimme Something Good Feels Like Fire Stay With Me http://paxamrecords.com/ Shola says "First Ryan Adams album I've enjoyed in a long time. Nicely focused and crafted guitar rock, nearly a Bryan Adams album to be honest. Definitely in my top ten albums of the year" 8. Future Islands - Singles Fave Tracks: Seasons (Waiting On You)  Sun In The Morning Light House http://www.future-islands.com/ Shola

....and now the top ten: 10.  Mayer Hawthorne  - How Do You Do? (Universal) Former Stones Throw alumnus, Mayer Hawthorne is the funkiest white boy going and last year signed to Universal and released the great album that is "How Do You Do?" which features none other than Snoop Dogg on "Can't Stop", if you need more of a reason to listen I can confirm that every song's a winner but none more so than "A Long Time" where he manages to recount the history and all that was great of his hometown Detroit. - fave track:  A Long Time 9.  Beirut -  The Rip Tide ( Pompeii Records ) Zach Condon returned this year and managed to combine everything from Beirut's musical past and turn them into something that sounded new and fresh and a must-listen-to album. "East Harlem" and "Santa Fe" are reasons enough for buying this. - fave track:  Santa Fe 8.  Stevie Jackson - (I Can't Get No) Stevie Jackson ( Banchory ) So for th

20.  Toro Y Moi -  Underneath the Pine   ( Carpark ) Anyone who has read a music blog in the last two years knows who this guy is and I have to say the hype is completely justified for once, "Underneath the Pine" is an album that shows massive range and has some of the funkiest beats this side of the seventies, particularly in "Still Sound" and "New Beat" - fave track:  Still Sound 19.  Miles Kane -  Colour of the Trap   ( Columbia ) Alex Turner's bessie mate put out a solid album, first single "Come Closer" was chosen as the song for the Arthur's Day ad campaign which suggest he has a knack for uptempo catchy pop which he does, but it's when he channels the spirit of Marc Bolan on "My Fantasy" that he really hits the heights. - fave track:  My Fantasy 18.  Real Estate -  Days   ( Domino ) If you like your indie rock to jangle like early Johnny Marr/The Smiths you'll like this, it's quite a hypnotic album

So here goes my list of albums what I liked from last year, fave tracks are all linked so you can listen to them. 30. Princess Chelsea - Lil' Golden Book   ( Lil' Chief Records ) New Zealand songstress Chelsea Nikkel impresses on her debut album mixing classic and modern sounds to great effect, and any album that has a song called "Monkey Eats Bananas" deserves a listen. - fave track: The Cigarette Duet 29. Bell X1 - Bloodless Coup   (BellyUp Records) BellX1 continue to make very good albums that are always worth a listen, my only gripe with this one is that every song is at least four and a half minutes so the album is a bit too long. - fave track: Velcro 28. Idiot Glee - Paddywhack   ( Moshi Moshi ) This album was a pure impulse buy, knew nothing about him and it turned out to be a really cool album and comes across like a more loop/keyboard obsessed Jens Lekman. - fave track: FOE 27. Peter Bjorn & John - Gimme Some   ( Cooking Vinyl
