TDMTLTUT #37 - Margo Guryan - Timothy Gone

Margo Guryan released one album "Take a Picture" in 1967, didn't tour, didn't sell many records and then became a music teacher. However her songs were recorded by other people including Cass Elliot, Dizzy Gillespie and Glen Campbell among others. She has fans that include Cornelius (they re-released the album on their own label) and Beck. This song didn't make the album, initially, it's included as a bonus demo now. I first heard of it when Brown Recluse (formerly Brown Recluse Sings!) replied in song, with their tune "Margo, Left In Bed" from their "Black Sunday" EP (you can hear it on their myspace).

Have You Met...Cotton Jones

Cotton Jones (formerly The Cotton Jones Basket Ride) are Whitney McGraw and Michael Nau (lead singer of Page France). Their fine blend of Americana with some flashes of psychedelia and boy/girl vocals are a perfect fit. I've just downloaded their new album "Tall Hours In The Glowstream" (legally, don't jump to conclusions!) but since I haven't listened to it yet, I've posted two older songs.

First song is a live version of "Gotta Cheer Up" from their album "Paranoid Cocoon", and the second song is "Nicotine Canaries" from the "Rio Ranger Ep", which is my 38th most-listened-to song of the last 12 months (thanks LastFm)
